…WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 PM
EST WEDNESDAY…
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR SNOW AND ICE…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT TO 6 PM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER
IN EFFECT.
* LOCATION…SOUTH COASTAL RHODE ISLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS.
* ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 8 INCHES…ALONG WITH
AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH OF ICE. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF
HIGHER ICE AMOUNTS ESPECIALLY ACROSS THE IMMEDIATE SOUTH COASTAL
REGIONS.
* TIMING…LATE TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.
* IMPACTS…DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS INCLUDING REDUCED
VISIBILITIES AS WELL AS SNOW AND ICE COVERED ROADS…ESPECIALLY
FOR THE WEDNESDAY MORNING COMMUTE.
* WINDS…NORTHEAST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
* VISIBILITIES…ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.
* TEMPERATURES…AROUND 30.
